Development Length:
The length of bars which used to transfer the stress from Steel to concrete called as a development length. Refer IS 456:2000 for details. The tension and compression calculated pass of any section shall be developed on each side of the section with particular development length.
Anchorage length:
The length which is provided when enough development length cannot be able to provide at the fixed end called as an anchorage length. Its value is ( 8 x Diameter) for 90-degree bend while, (6 x Diameter ) for the bend of 135 degrees.
If sufficient development length is not able to provide in rebars for the development of stress, the anchorage length will be provided.
