What is Golden Ratio? How can we find out the Golden Ratio of any rectangular shaped body?

A good way to estimate it is using the Fibonacci numbers: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, 377, 610, 987...... The way to estimate ϕ is to take any number from the sequence and divide it by the previous one. The further along in the sequence you go, the closer the estimation gets to ϕ. This sequence shows up all over the place, such as in pineapples, sunflowers, pine cones..... It is a truly fascinating topic!

Here is one way to draw a rectangle with the Golden Ratio:

Draw a square (of size "1") Place a dot half way along one side Draw a line from that point to an opposite corner (it will be √5/2 in length) Turn that line so that it runs along the square's side

Then you can extend the square to be a rectangle with the Golden Ratio.

A golden ratio is a special number (greek letter phi) φ which value is around 1.618.

many buildings and artworks have applied golden ratio such as Parthenon in Greece.

Now let’s take one rectangle of sides a and b so If you want to find the golden ratio then you have to calculate by the below formula.

a/b = a+b/a = φ = 1.618

A Golden Ratio is a special number.

It is found by dividing a line into two parts so that the longer part divided by the smaller part is also equal to the whole length divided by the longer part. 

Golden Ratio is often symbolised by using letter phi. 

The value of phi is 1.618 Golden Ratio is also called as a golden mean, golden section or a divine proportion.

Historically, the number can be seen in the architecture of many ancient creations like the great pyramids and the Parthenon.
