Making of 1hr and 2hr firing wall: This is one of the most popular questions. Basically, building codes typically require that the structure is wall roof floor, the roof is fire-resistant.

The standards set forth by the International Building Code (IBC). fire resistant Wallis designed for a definite time period. According to 'Commercial drafting and detailing book', a one of our fire rated wall consists 2 x 4 studs spaced 16 inches from the centre of one stud to the centre of the next.

Values for fire-resisting walls are provided in ACI 216.1-07 ratings in between 1 to 4 hours. Please go through it for details.

ACI 216.1 -07 describes rating for 1hour, 1.5 hours, 2 hours, 4 hours.

You can also refer IS 3089:1979 for values of fire-resisting for a different structure and dimensions.

Dear Calvin,

Chapter 3 of ACI 216.1-07 (Code Requirements for Determining Fire Resistance of Concrete and Masonry Construction Assemblies) provides adequate data and procedure regarding to request.

Dear Theodore,

Greetings. Thanks for your reply. Kindly also let me know if i have to make fire rating wall with solid or hollow blocks what is procedure.
