HDPE liner was chosen to protect the surface and ground waters of the area and to assist with the evaporation of the water. This liner is also known as the HDPE goe-membrane. It contains 98% high-density polyethylene. It is durable and long-lasting and is used to line cooling ponds due to their low permeability and resistance to UV light.
